from reading a heck of a lot of threads saying "speak to your ip" i was wondering how many of us actullay do during our iva lifetime.i have not(never had cause yet,but would not refrain if i had to)but it seems they are a bit harder to reach in some firms, which is very supprising as there's is the name on tin so to speak.i am taking mel out of this as she does speak to a lot of her clients and quite rightly so.
and how many ips are there at some of these big companys as there does not seem that many names bandied about.
cc received 6th January 2014 now upwards and onwards
I spoke to mine on my review (1st year) but had no other cause to contact her
IVA accepted 31.05.11 and 2 reviews DONE!!! Wow,nearly approaching my third. can't believe how time has flown!
December 2015 - made a one off payment and made a settlement of the IVA!! recieved certificate in May. - all completd and now I can get on with my life
Interesting question, back on track.( CCCS, for example, administers thousands of IVAs through CCCSva and employs just one ( yes, one )IP). !!! In too many companies , they're just there to decorate the letterhead, meet the regulatory requirement and justify the fees. If ever you have an important issue in respect of your IVA administration, don't assume too much knowledge or experience on the part of your case worker and don't mistake them for IPs.
Never spoke to mine during the term of my IVA, having said that, I never had reason to. DFD dealt with my IVA from start to finish with no hic-cups.....(other than having to extend in lieu of equity). Guess I was one of the lucky ones.
tiger tiger I do beleive your not overly happy with the whole IP firm arrangement thing. I suppose though and at least some saving grace your case worker is not from a call centre in India...yet!
Never needed to as most of the setting up was down via Mike Peoples.
Every time I needed to speak to someone I found my IP's team to be knowledgeable and professional so never needed to speak to James.
I have no doubt I could have spoken to him if I needed to. Mels approach is very professional and I take my hat off to her. However I didn't want or need to speak to mine!!
I've never spoken to mine but the people I have dealt with so far have been great. If I ever need to I know how to get hold of him so I'm not worried x
Right at the very start of my IVA I spoke to one of the IP's, who actually was not acting as my supervior but one of the partners at the "creditors meeting". Other than that I've dealt with the case administrator at Hamiltons and found him really helpful, got my case closed nice and quickly and the completion certificate in my hands within 6 weeks of my final payment, would have been sooner but the IP was away at the time and he had to sign the certificate or so I was told
Hamilton's who were based in Sheffield are no longer going now though and I have a lot of praise for them, they were taken over by another company since I took my IVA out but I kept the same IP throughout the takeover.
I know they are not on this forum, but could not thank them enough for helping me through a very difficult time in my life.
We're willing to wipe the slate clean, give you a fresh start. All that we're asking in return is your cooperation.
We are with the cccsva and yeah they do only have one IP for such a big company. But to be honest to date we have not needed to have a chat with her at the mo.
With regards to the case workers it is a good thing to question everything your not clear about,or the answers or figures they give you.I think its important for your own piece of mind to be able too work out your figures ie overpayments etc yourself.
I think thats where this site becomes such a huge help where you can get expert advice etc to see if your case worker is telling you something which is not quite right. In their defence we can all make mistakes thats why its good for all of us to keep on the ball with all our IVA's.
I have never spoken to my IP, but do have regular contact with another at the same firm. However, so far, I have found most of the people I have had dealings with have been knowledgible and helpful.
In some firms, where the IP takes staff training seriously and takes a pride in their organisation the staff do an excellent job.
However, there is an element of when the "firm" becomes an "organisation", ownership and personal responsibility is lost to a greater or lesser degree. When you get into the case numbers of the likes of CCCSva and Payplan you do tend to become another grain of sand on some beach.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
Mine took the trouble to phone me at the start to discuss the process, having completed the leg work with the support team. Since then I have spoken direct a few times and e-mailed always getting a swift and personal response. With my ever changing circumstances close liasion with the suppport team has been critical to avoid unpleasant surprises as far as uplit payments goes, so i have (I hope) managed to keep on top of each and every varying uplift. I cannot praise my IP and the support team highly enough; from my initial enquiry to now preparing for my first review in a month or so the rollercoaster ride has been made easier to understand and cope with thanks to their support as well of course as the support on the forum.

Never. However I did email him last week, I got a reply from Claire at GT and it contained the information I was seeking so I have no need to pursue for an answer from him.
Last Payment made 04/12/14. Completion Certificate 25/7/15. IVA company GT. No Issues
