I have successfully completed an IVA and have the completion Certificate dated 5th Feb 2008. How long will it take for my credit rating to be restored and do I need to do anything to achieve this?

Your credit files ought to be cleared six years after the date of your creditors meeting.

Start clearing it up the day you get your completion certificate from your IP, send it to the insolvency service, and the main Credit Reference Agencies.

Make sure that any default dates registered are the date of your creditors meeting. Some creditors are very naughty and register defaults after the creditors meeting, some several months later which mean they still hang around longer unless you get the dates corrected

If you change the dates in year 5 -6 then on the 6th anniversary of your creditors meeting everything will be wiped at the same time and you can start a new life debt free.
We're willing to wipe the slate clean, give you a fresh start. All that we're asking in return is your cooperation.
