Hi Susan. This a "how long is a piece of string" question.
It depends upon who your IP is with and your individual circumstance regarding PPI, amongst other things.
Normally the IVA proposal allows for a period of up to 6 months, however, some IP's are managing to issue within a few weeks, whereas others are taking in excess of 12 months (usually while awaiting the results of PPI claims).
There are moves afoot to allow the certificate to be issued prior to PPI claims being settled.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
depends on which company and how far you push for it. I finished paying my IVA on 3rd July 2012 and am still waiting for certificate and I know someone else on here has been waiting a year for theres.. Sorry I cannot be the bearer of better news..
Well done and that is good to receive it after only 6 months. I think we will be going down the financial ombudsman route as it is now not funny and beyond a joke. Good luck for the future
Geordie, there is something wrong here. Are they investigating PPI. If not, this stinks of incompetance.
I would just go to the Office of Fair Trading and the FSA....without delay. 19 months...wow
Completed IVA - August 2012 pheeeeeeeeeew
Only my opinion - Nothing More Nothing Less
Hi, it seems I'm in the same boat am still waiting from CC and no luck sense feb 2012 and apparently I have to wait another 3month?? The person I spoke at GT doesn't have a clue of why is no closed yet??
I don't think that there are any provisions in IVA Protocol cases where there is a six month period in which to close a case. I suspect that this has become the norm - without it being an actual proposal provision, and a lot of cases seem to be taking a lot longer due to various issues IPs have had to deal with over the last few months.
