This is really something you would need to discuss with your IP. It may be the case that you will be permitted to have a few months payment break or similar and have that time added on to the end of the IVA.

As I said though, speak to your IP abouit it as they will know the ins & outs of your personal circumstances and be able to offer more tailored advice.

Kind Regards.

Firstly I would advise to make sure that you keep fully comp insurance if you do not at present.Presuming that you only have to change your car due to an accident then presuming that the finance is settled by your insurance company then you may still be able to obtain credit for the remaining term of your original HP agreement and for the same monthly amount. As long as your IP agrees and you can secure credit then you should be fine.As illihor states speak with your IP but don,t worry until the need arises.

Has anyone tried to purchase a car while under an IVA?
If so, what finance company did you use to finance? What was the interest rate? Was the interest rate exhorbant because of the IVA? How much did you require for a deposit? Is the deposit higher for IVA people?

Thank you all.

There are very few HP lenders that will consider applicants in an IVA. The usual suspects including Welcome, Blue, BCT won't. Advantage Finance and Duncton will both consider your application.

Obviously you will need to discuss with IP before entering into any credit agreement.
