I got asked on Saturday at the FF how I felt about the IVA process and my coming (as it was then) creditors meeting. [:D][:(][:D]

I didn't really know what to say! How did/do I feel? [:0]

At the beginning I was scared, unsure, nervous, guilt ridden, confused etc. As the process progressed and the more informed I became and the more support everyone on here gave me whether it be answers to questions or daft responses to my daft posts the more relaxed I became. [8D]

I genuinely didn't feel anything today (apart from boredom lol). Whether right or wrong I just knew that whatever the outcome it was meant to be and that I would come back from it (eventually). I believe god only throws at you what you can cope with and no matter how difficult things get there is always a way. This I know in my heart to be true.

Today is now officially the first day of paying back what we can to our creditors - We have had our IVA APPROVED. We are now officially insolvent.

So, Melanie and team, I am really pleased and also very grateful. I'm sorry I wasn't jumping up and down but I have had a thought on why this is - we all come on this forum desperate and scared feeling there is no way out, the process is sometimes quite lengthy for obvious reasons so by the time we get our IVA's approved we are usually a bit more settled and calmer. We are more informed about our options and have a great support network to fall back on in times of darkness. Also, it has to be mentioned that you (Melanie) and your team do take the time out to make everyone and especially your clients feel at ease - you have done a good job with me as I was confident you would see us right. It is the way you run your team and the way you have dealt with me personally that has given me my belief in your company.

(OH is also over the moon).

So, again THANKS TO EVERYONE.

P.S. Do I come across as 'hard' (Melanie [;)])

Well done Marie!
It'll sink in soon!
For me it was a mixture of 'oh so that's it' and 'omg what have I done!!'
The stress and depression had been there that long it took a while to chill out! The funny thing is that I didn't bat an eyelid to a five year loan yet felt like I'd signed my life away for 5 years in the iva!!
All the best for your debt free future
xx

Great news Marie, I am so pleased for you. I know what you mean about feeling a little numb but I think there are so many emotions up to the point of the meeting that, when it finally is over as such it is hard to take in. I found my elation built when suddenly all the phone calls stopped and the bills through the door. That was just the best feeling and still is after 8 months. All the very best to you both.

Thank you to everyone it means a lot!

I have only just sent Melanie an e mail thanking her - I have not been able to find any words worthy of how I feel. She is a special lady! [:D]
