Have been IVA for over 2 years. Really having a problem keeping head above water at the moment. Especially with school holidays. Household allowance seems very tight. Do other people have pets? I have 3 cats and 2 dogs which cost about £50 per month. This has to come out of housekeeping amount. Could this amount be made into own cost each month. Also my IVA provider very difficult to deal with. I pay over £1100 per month to IVA but have had to reduce by £100 for last two month because of bills. Have now received unpleasant call saying that if don't pay full amount this month they will be writing to creditors to say IVA failed. Can this be right? Can't pay amount again this month as cost living petrol etc not reflected in original IVA figures.

My IVA contract had a section written to say I could reduce my payments by 15% without the creditors meeting again. Have a look at your paperwork to see if you have something similar.
Your IVA provider shouldn't be unpleasant, otherwise they're just as bad as creditors!
If you really cant afford the payments, perhaps you need to have the creditors meet again to agree a new income/expenditure list?

Your IP ought to be helping you more to try and work out an affordable budget. The CCCS allow £20 per month towards pet expenditure, so there should be no reason why you could not have a similar allowance, and everyone knows that the cost of living is rapidly increasing - and this will be hitting your IP's pocket as well as yours.

Time for a frank chat with the IP to set your mind at rest.

you will need to speak with them again it is in no ones benefit to fail the iva now who are you with and what was your original debt? the dividend must be close to 100% with payments of over £1000[:0]

I have 3 cats, payments for gas keep going up and up and at the start of the IVA I lived with my partner who paid half. Now Im on my own and the payments did reduce for a while(with their permission) but I dont think they realised. they are now back to 677 per month and I cant cope. Nuttalls seem to not communicate with each other!

sorry to hear you both are struggling but some firms dont live in the real world especially the big ones as you cant even get hold of someone with half a brain most the time keep at them do new expenditure forms for them they will see were you are struggling at and need to act to stop the failure of the iva because at the end of the day this benefits no one[:(]
