I can remember reading a thread on here about insurances. (can't find it now). My insurance is up for renewal in May (car and home. If our IVA is accepted, should we inform Direct Line, or is there no need. I can't remember what the advise was!!

I phoned my insurers after we went br to inform them, they said it didn't matter. I'm with Morethan for the house contents and Privilege for the car (privilege is part of direct-line)
It's nice to be back......

Well if you tell them and they say it ok that's fine. If you don't tell them they could get awkward if you need to claim and void your insurance, so I would cover your back,

Hi,
I doubt very much if an IVA will effect your insurance.
"Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets. So love the people who treat you right, forget about the ones who don’t and believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said that it’d be easy, they just promised it would be worth it."

I told Churchill when I went BR and they weren't interested, and neither were the RAC when I asked them for a quote.

I would tell them Angela - when Dave was taking out contents insurance when we moved one of the companies refused to insure him because there was a bankrupt living in the house!

Ang, just out of curiosity, don't renew your insurance automatically. I saved around £50 by getting a new policy with the same insurers just by getting a new quote online. The girl laughed when I said I'd had a cheaper quote from them...online. Done it for 2 years now.

Glad you posted re this..........
We have our home insurance with our bank which is our creditor and we have just been in touch with Melanie re our situation. Currently we pay each month by dd. I am a bit worried about giving my new etails to the insurance company due to them being part of the old bank - am I being paranoid???
