We have no excess so I can't help you with that. I think you should be ok though - who knows when the screw disappeared?
We were able to claim for a fridge freezer a few years ago after hubby tried to chip away excess ice with a knife and managed to pierce the freezer! We came clean and told them exactly what had happened and they replaced it without any problems.

Courier has been n picked up, though he was confused n thought he was collecting a laptop!
As much as I would love to have a laptop - I just want my wii fixing or replacing!

Within 24 hours of courier picking it up they have phoned n comfirmed its unrepairable n offered me a brand new replacement with the wii sports & wii motion plus resort - yes please!!!!
Paid my excess over n said another company would be calling to confirm delivery - Brilliant! 10 minutes later they phone n its arriving on Monday with Parcelforce!

Now we have thought about youngest intentions of sticking a knife in, its probably down to watching me put one in the toaster to get crumpets out![:D]
They will not be operating it without me or hubby from now on!
