I could hardly believe it if it is a normal broker that made the loan possible contrary to what some of the specialist have said.Mmmm.Shaun what is the take on this remarkable story???
It was a broker that Taylor Wimpey recommended to us that they use for their properties, all this is making me very scared but will let everyone know in October if they change their minds, fingers crossed for me
I'll keep everyone posted with the progress of our application, but again, we were completely honest and upfront with our adviser, snd i asked him to confirm that he had def ticked yes when asked about the iva, and he confirmed that he did. As the valuer has been instructed by halifax (at my expense) i would have thought that any decision to reject an application would have been made before the instruction, to save the expense of a valuer going out? It would be interesting to know how many other people have been accepted for a mortgage so soon after their iva finishing, particularly through halifax. Given that i am likely to be able to get the mortgage on my own, perhaps halifax deem the joint application not so much of a risk given that i would be able to make the payments anyway?? It would be interesting to hear the experts thoughts on this....
Hi all - just to give you all an update. The valuer went out to the house on thursday, and we have today been given a formal offer!!!! Just to reiterate, that we (and our adviser) were honest when answering the question re past iva's etc, so i hope that our position gives hope to others out there. Its over to the solicitors now to get on with the conveyancing, so heres hoping that the worst of the application process is over and its all plain sailing from hereon in. I'll keep everyone posted! Thanks to everyone for their words of advice and support
