Hi,
I completed an IVA a couple of years ago. I was with debt free direct. This month my ex and I both received checks for refund on PPI. This cheque was debt free , is this correct?

Hi, not sure on this one as I know there is a lot of confusion with PPI at the minute but will bump this up for another to respond to

Do you mean debt free direct have sent you the cheque?
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

If the cheque has been sent on by DFD I would assume that they do not wish to re-open old files to deal with distribution, which could actually cost more in admin and fees that the refunds are worth!

Cloudy, as far as I am aware your posts have not been deleted. "Only post" ?? Twenty two so far. And DFD cannot delete, amend or otherwise interfere with posts on here.

The original post is here:

http://www.iva.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=78772

and the repeated post was locked, not deleted.

DFD are not ignoring the law ... the Green v Wright decision is not binding whilst under appeal.

Agree with Foggy - only mods and admin can delete or lock posts and DFD are certainly not amongst those.

SM1 did DFD forward the cheques to you or did it come from the PPI Company?

The law is up in the air at the moment - you could find that after the Court case is heard there is a small chance you could be asked to hand the PPI monies over. I would therefore either check with DFD and get them to confirm they have no interest in the funds or keep it in a safe place until after the green v Wright outcome is known.

Dfd sent me the cheque. Can I presume that this means they are not looking to reopen my case?

It would seem so - what was the content of the covering letter?

Laura should be able to help clarify if necessary.
