They will be charging the Nominees and Supervisory fees within your proposal. As Melanie stated there is no creditor who will block any IVA unless they have a cogent valid reason which is sustainable under the Protocol. How long have you been in the DMP for with GP?

Have been in the DMP for approx 2 years, but recently had to reduce the payment due to my partner changing jobs to a much lower paid one .. even when it first started my projected end was 11 years, now with the reduced payment and after2 years it is still 11 years.

If your IVA is approved, you will definitely be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel!

I wonder why they did not discuss the possibility of an IVA with you two years ago? You would be almost halfway through by now!

That is so annoying! If we had done an IVA when we first sorted out our finances, we would be halfway through as well!

Still, the first year is over now.

They did, but as soon as I mentioned Northern Rock they said it would probably fail as at the time NR were not accepting IVA's and they are my largest creditor.

NR have always accepted IVA's but were very difficult with certain clients based on whether they were owed 25% or more of the debt - their criteria has now changed - from last November - why has it only taken GP 5 months to suggest this now?

Probably because my circumstances were better suited to DM, but since then my partner has had to change jobs to one that is paying £400 a month less

OK as long as you are happy with them and remember you need to work with them for 5 more years. Good luck.

Just looking for a basic bank account now, one that has a debt card and is free.

Looking at Halifax EasyCash account, but unsure if they are associated with any of my creditors, some of which are

Northern Rock
Lloyds TSB
NatWest
Barclaycard
Mint

Any advise please
