Hi Rich. These are accountancy companies who vote on behalf of the creditors and, subsequently manage the "bad debt portfolio". To some extent, this isn't a bad thing, as they look purely at the situation from a numbers point of view.

Presumably they will work within a broad criteria framework, which might vary from company to company, but on the whole, if the proposal is the best their client will get they will vote yes.

My major voters were TiX (Insolvency Exchange) and KMPG, who all voted Yes, after modifying the fees and uplifting my payment by £28.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

I am with GT and they also represent two of my creditors. Be interesting to see how that pans out!

Best of luck for your meeting Rich. ;)

I was wondering whether there are any group meetings in the Maidstone, Kent area that I can go along to for support and to help others. I have been reading about frugal friends, but they dont appear to have meetings in my area. Does anyone know of anything? It would be great to meet up with others that are in IVAs or going through the stages. Creditors meeting for me 18th April, counting down the days now. Rich xx

The FF has been in the Midlands the past few times as it is quite central for everyone. If you wanted to arrange something Rich then you could so.

At the moment the only one is set for July.

Rich I'm going to have to remove your email address from your post as we can't put them on and it's leaves you open to a lot of spam too. Sorry. If you want to ask people to contact you off forum you can add each other as a frugal friend and swap messages and email addresses that way. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

No worries Rich - it's mostly because you could get bombarded with spam if you put your email address down on the forum.

It is not just SPAM. I actually had a marriage proposal sent from someone who said they got my details from the Forum. Unfortunately I had to decline the kind offer as one wife is enough for any man!

Lucky you Michael!!

I know that when I first started posting and did my blog, I used to get terribly abusive comments about it. OK, they didn't know my email address and the people making them have no idea who you are.

They actually used to make me laugh as they were obviously very sad individuals and why on earth little old me should upset them I don't know!

Just goes to prove though that you don't know who is lurking on the fringes.

'Don't forget the Mormons Michael!'

If I had more than one wife I would not get in the house for shoes!

Just marry people who have the same shoe size. :)

The bills would be cheaper split three ways, and everyone could take turns with the washing up. Sounds pretty good to me!

@Jan

There are some sad people about, but we don't see many of them here. It's a nice community and you and the team do a great job of keeping it friendly and anonymous.
Take care,

You always get some people who don't like what we do - they're usually jealous of the success of the forum.

Fortunately I have broad enough shoulders and the fact that they haven't a clue who I am or where I live helps!!!!
