She is an insolvency practitioner and the only money you would be required to pay, would be your first months payment in time for your creditors meeting.

If you phone/email her office they will advise you of your options.

Dee - its free for the initail advice. I believ Melanie only charges when the IVA is approved. Her fees will be taken out of your IVA payments. You've nothing to lose by ringing hey?

Hi Dee, my goodness, I've just read your whole thread and I am astonished. Just to assist you, my IVA was approved at the end of July. Melanie is my IP and I can honestly say that the service I have received from Melanie and her team has been second to none. Never once has anyone spoken to me in such a way, Melanie and her team give you good honest, professional advice at all times and are not in any way judgemental. I spoke to Melanie herself during my proposal meeting on the phone and she is really lovely. I will admit that IP's do charge for their services but this is all included in your proposal (so no nasty bills landing through the letterbox) and with Melanie, the only payment up front is a couple of days before the creditors meeting, which is actually your first month's payment. At the end of the day, the IP's have a business to run, but I will say that Melanie will always have yours and the creditors best interest at heart. Remember that they are working for both parties effectively, so the arrangements need to be agreed by both parties, hence the proposal and creditors meeting.

Dee, give Melanie's team a ring. They will guide you through all the steps and give you fantastic advice which is all free at this stage.

Best of luck in whatever you decide to do hun. I am rooting for you.

Chin up, Kazzy x

I wouldn't like to comment Dee but I do know that you will get great, non-judgemental advice. Good luck and let us know what happens. X

What time do you work till dee?

I don't know what time their hours are, but I do know that people on here have had calls at night from them.

At least you have taken the first step.

Melanie's office has called my friend at 7pm - so they work late. I'm sure you could arrange a suitable time.

Good luck Dee x
