I agree that this is a shambolic situation, however, in the VAT cases the IP's hands ARE tied, to a certain extent, because they have to follow the advice of their regulatory bodies.
I am also of the opinion, as I have stated elsewhere, that many companies are placing the majority of resources into hooking clients, rather than maintaining the ability to service them and complete paperwork in due time. This is a tendency of the larger concerns. I had a "conversation" with a CCCS representative who maintains that new enquiries are being dealt with within 24 hours and get a full appraisal call within a couple of days .... however, many of their existing clients are paying the price for this in abysmal service.
Once we sign up they can ( and often do) treat us as inconveniences that must be tolerated.
That all said, which is no help I am afraid to those trapped, there are companies and / or individuals within companies out there who do care, as is evidenced by their participatrion in this forum. Unfortunately, if they are part of a larger, regulated, organisation, matters are often out of their control.
The industry is always evolving, hopefully the next edition of the Protocol will iron out some irritations and stop goal post moving. We can but hope.
