Hello,
I entered into an IVA in August 2007 (In my final year yipeee!!!!) Anyway, when i entered in my IVA i was living at home no dependants or expenses. I have recently discovered that i am pregnant :) and I have moved in with my boyfriend and i am currently paying him what i paid my parents at home (i had to move i am 27!!). I want to know how this will effect my IVA? Obviously i will need more cash flow for the baby now and whilst i have moved it is a further 10 miles from work. With it being so close to the end, i dont want to fail. Suggestions and advice would be greatfully received!!

Hi fifi.

Congratulations on your news!!!

I think in your situation that you could probably ask your IP to speak to the creditors with a view to taking your payments to date as a full and final offer.

Hopefully one of the experts can advise.

Hi fifi and congratulations on your baby news and on reaching the final year of the IVA. When speaking with your IP make sure you know exactly what is being agreed and get it in writing as confirmation. This way you will know exactly where you stand. Good luck. hugs

congratulations on your pregnancy and for reaching your final year of the IVA - as others have said speak with your IP and ask them to consider requesting payment to date be accepted by your creditors - if this accepted then you will then be able to focus on your new beginnings with baby and debt freedom !

If you are going to be left with little or no disposable income - after taking account of child benefit, tax credits and a contribution to the costs of the baby from your partner, then it would be sensible to see if your IP could get creditors to agree to an early conclusion based on the payments made to date. These are usually acceptable so long as the figures can be justified.
