Hi and welcome.

It is usually 16 days from receipt of the proposal back with the ip. Give them a ring to make sure they have received it.

Which company are you with?

Hi, it's normally pretty quick ( depending upon workload, really) but the creditors have to be given 16 days notice.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

We all know that feeling. At the end of the day, it's down to affordibility. If creditors can see the best offer is on the table, they will go for it.

Hi Heathy, I'm not far behind you, I am at the point where I have gone through everything on the phone and am waiting for the paperwork.
In the mean time I have applied for a new bank account.

It's a good feeling setting mind to purpose rather than just stressing out over the month ahead.

I am a bit worried when it comes to not making payments to my creditors though, i have kept up so far but that is why the rest of the month is a struggle.

I applied for mine on the 17th July and the creditors meeting was approx 6 weeks later ..... it really depends on the level of detail required and clarification of creditors etc.....it will soon come around !

Barclays voted yes for me, Jay, don't worry about stopping payments, we had never missed a payment, ever when we first made the call to start the IVA process and I was so scared to stop payments, but I did and we had 6 months of no payments to anyone before we got our creditors meeting sorted and no one took any action during that time, we just had loads of calls and letters that's all, I would really seriously consider saving your money to build up a bit of a contingency to get you off to a good start when your IVA is approved

Don't worry about the letters or any phone calls Heathy. The call centres are bullies and I'd just put the phone down if you don't want to speak to them or just refuse to confirm your security details.

The letters you can forward on to your IP. Shouldn't be long until you get that date now.

You'll get all the support you want on here - we know exactly how you feel!!!
