Heavily in Debt and really have no where to turn. Have been told IVA is the best solution. Now I'm confuse which company to go with have been sent forms etc by Baines & Ernst they were really helpful and lovely on the phone but online reviews have scared me a bit, so I haven't signed anything yet. can anyone help me with any info that can help me take a decision please?
I woukd suggest that you speak to some other companies the experts who post on here are all rated highly. Speak to some of them and then make your decission. You will be in a working relationship for 5 years so you must feel happy wih the company you chose.
Good Luck

Nothing you can buy feels as good as not being in debt.
I recommend that you speak to one or two other experts before making a decision.
Visit www.iva.com for a list of companies and reviews. The advice is free and impartial.

You have definitely come to the right place for help and advise. I only wish I had found this forum before I had started my IVA. One of the experts or moderators will offer you some sound advise shortly am sure.
I like you was with B & E to start with then for a DMP then moved to their sister company Blair Endersby when I needed the IVA, I haven't had any problems with either company although I have doubts on some of the advice given me from BE regarding overtime payments etc. and they can be a little brusque on the phone, I suggest you look around and find a company you are really happy with, after all you will be with them for a minimum of 5 years which is a long time if you are unhappy.

Bains & Ernst don't do IVAs - they will refer you to their sister company Blair Endersby for this. If you have been happy with the advice and client service already provided to you, there may be no need to change providers, but often it can be beneficial to try other companies simply to compare the advice provided - and remember the seeking of professional advice from an insolvency practitioner should cost you nothing.
Thank you everyone for such quick replies to my post. It's nice to find this place.
Pandy - it would be lovely to chat to you further if you can, cos you are a current customer with B&E
Melanie - I actually sent you an email via this site just before my first posting requesting contact.
The B & E people actualy were very nice on the phone very helpful aswered all my questions, it's these online reviews I read that concerend me a bit, not sure if I should be.
B & E did tell me I had to make the admin payment ASAP before they can start.
I'm just so confused this is such a big step, but we need such big help!
Hi Anne.li,
I see you are now talking with Melanie and after finding this forum I would have gone with a firm recommended on here. Just to reassure anyone about Blair Endersby, I had a few issues when I started with them (some personal changes mainly). I hadn't got too many answers. I found this forum and BE sent a message asking me to speak to an IP. From then on they have been A1. Very friendly and there is always someone available and knowledgeable. That's just my dealings. I know they get a bad press sometimes on here but I've found them to be fine a year into IVA.
I wish you all the best with whatever company you go with!
Deb
IVA started Sept 09. Glad to be on the way to being debt free
Sorry Anne - have been watching the football so only just caught up with your reply. We will call you tomorrow as close to the suggested time as we can.
Anne.li,
You are welcome to chat any time if you want anymore info on my dealings with B & E. Add me as a frugal friend and I will add you then you can email me privatly.
