Good news ( potentially) Mel. Personally I would be content ( not happy) with the Cert. of due Completion. At least you can then get on with life knowing that "what's yours IS yours". Coming off the IR would be a nice bonus though.

I really don,t care about still being on the register as never never never will I ever ask anyone for credit. If I can,t pay cash then I do not get it. All I want is my certificate. Pleeeease

That is very useful feedback for me chaps. I think in the profession most of us feel that the Certificate is a useless and meaningless piece of paper, but to those of you at the end of your IVAs it clearly is important - so I am grateful to you for sharing those views and if anyone else has anything to say on this subject please let me know either on or off-line directly.

I feel the certificate is what I'm working to, almost like a qualification in my job you've achieved when the certficiate is received and personally I will feel I've achieved when I get my certfiicate from my IP. I'll be proud of it as I've done!

Being selfish that damn register is a pain in the rear in its own right and I can't wait to be off it to be honest. x

Thanks Niobe,I willbut do you know throughout the term of the IVA I've never been impatient just taken one month at a time but the nearer it gets the more I find I'm impatient and just want it now!

Now 3 days later and I still have not had a reply from the closures team at GT. Not only is this very unprofessional I also think it's quite rude. Certainly not how I believe such an organisation should be doing business.

I'm definitely working towards that certificate Melanie ... until we have ours it won't seem like we are finally free. Without it the ties that bind us to the IVA are still firmly tied.

That certificate says we've served our time, paid our dues as it were, and is so very important x

Mel, I realise that, from your side of the fence, so to speak, that meaningless slip of paper merely signals the end of a case (and on to the next) --- but, to us, it is the Holy Grail and symbolises the whole of the 5 or 6 years (and those leading up to the IVA). Psychologically, it's the end of the old ways and the start of the new.

A bit like lying in hospital waiting to have your appendix out ... medics are very blase about this -- they do it every day, hundreds of time, but fo rthe patient it is the FIRST and ONLY time they will have their appendix out -- to them it's a much bigger deal !

Very good post Foggy - Mel, it is time that IPs, other than the few of which you are one, treated their clients with a little more courtesy in this regard. To the individual, the Certificate, notwithstanding what Foggy said, is a massive achievement and should not be underestimated.....by ANYONE
Completed IVA - August 2012 pheeeeeeeeeew

I certainly want my certificate,,not only did i work hard in them 5 years to pay of my debts, i doubled my hrs to make sure i doubled my payments,,and if as GT has promised me my certificate does not arrive this next coming week, i will be one very unhappy bunny, and be back on here ranting like a lunatic about them, and be heading for 21 months since my last payment,,,so please let it arrive....

I have to agree. Having the certificate is the Holy Grail. We've been through really hard 5 or 6 years and it's tangible proof that you've succeeded
Life after IVA is wonderful.

Is GT earning interest on the dividends, by any chance?? If so, I am not surprised they are holding on to them for as long as possible!! Not fair for you though......
At the beginning of a long journey....

I doubt there is any interest to speak of in this day and age, and any pennies earned this way will go into the pot and on to the creditors.
