Oh gosh i feel so sorry for you GT peeps..i to am with GT being passed from BE,but i probably hold the record for waiting nearly 20 months for my CC,my last payment April 2011 but nothing to do with ppi, just overpayments to creditors, but after intervention from Karol and a few serious phone calls threatening to report them to the ombudsman, they are now on track ,have had my final review and documents should arrive next week,,so with fingers and legs crossed i wait with baited breath,,

There's some comfort in knowing I am not alone in my struggle with GT. There clearly are some very good IP's out there, obvious from many of the posts on this forum. However I think more close regulation of the way IVA's are managed as an industry and the implimentation of some standards are long overdue. Just my oppinion.

Well apart from the standard "we will get back to you within 10 days" there's been no response from GT. Guess I am not surprised.

I am not far behind you Christine 53. Last payment made may 2011. Same reason as you for delay and have been promised regular updates. Received e mail today saying nothing really only that the third parties (whoever they are) still have not returned overpayment. Will get another update in 3 weeks Surely someone can pull rank and demand this third party pay back the money which does not belong to them . I am getting to the stage now where I really don,t care about a certificate and will just get on with my life.

Pantomime Dame is about the nearest I will get to a gong!

But returning to a serious note, as one who is very tightly regulated by the IPA, I can tell you that these inspection visits and regular desk top monitoring are pretty tough, and very high standards are required from all professionals who hold that precious piece of paper called an insolvency licence.

Instead of everyone just emailing karol, why doesn't karol just get her staff to do what they are paid to do, and work and respond to customers, after all that's what we are, GT just get your act together or consentrate on what you are able to accomplish, although on the IVA forum I'm beginning to wonder just that is????

i have just posted a question very similar to this except we paid a F&F on January 18th this year and still havnt had our IVA closed or received a certificate. The only communication has been when ive emailed them first asking whats going on. we are with Gt too, transferred from BE. we have just received documentation from EIC to sign so that any PPI claims can be paid to creditors and i sincerely hope this isnt why its delayed again. Ive got a good mind not to sign the paperwork until ive received the certificate of completion. cant believe how long its taken, over 10 months with still no end in sight

Hi -- I responded on the other thread ... but seeing the mention of PPI in this post has been enlightening. Your certificate will not be issued until the PPI question is resolved. Not signing the paperwork will only delay matters further. Unless you can convince GT that there is absolutely no PPI to claim you are now between a rock and a hard place, I am afraid.

I was told by GT that they would not keep a case open just to claim PPI but we refused to say we had as we firmly believe we were not misold but having said that it is 19 months tomorrow since our last payment was made. Am I being cynical !! Never

Geordie, I have no doubt that when you were told that it was correct -- however, PPI matters are changing daily and there have been numerous instances where advice given in good faith on (say) Monday is incorrect on Tuesday !!

Having been at the IPA Annual Conference today, and being somewhat involved in the obtaining of regulatory guidance with regard to this important area over the last few weeks, it does seem likely that both regulators and creditors are going to support the issuing of Certificates of Due Completion, once client have complied with all reasonable requests to provide information about PPI.

This will not mean that the case can be formally closed, but that there are no further obligations on the debtor and any windfalls received after this date (excluding vested PPI claims) can be retained. Conulstations are also underway with the Insolvency Service to see if the IVA Register can be updated, without the filing of the IPs final report. I am less confidence about the potential for this one, however you never know!
