Hi all.
Still lurking from time to time and thought I'd send you all on here a happy Christmas message and to say to all of you still on (or about to embark) an IVA, that it really is the start of a road to recovery.
Three years ago now, I was in the darkest place ever with my finances. Massively in debt, no road ahead, in two full-time jobs and I did not know where to turn, because EVERY penny of my monthly earnings were going out on repaying loans.
Then, thanks to Melanie Giles and her brilliant team, I turned a corner. I accepted my precarious position and made a decision to finally do something about it.
There needed to be a lot of soul-searching, and a lot of "owning up", particularly to my amazing dad, who knew nothing of my financial crisis.
It was one of the hardest things I had ever done, facing up to massive and ever-increasing debt.
It really did feel like I was being dragged beneath the waves.
But Melanie, who is the most wonderful person, non-judgemental, and above-all, friendly and helpful, assisted me in getting my life back on track.
To cut to the chase, I managed to get into a position where my dad helped me to make a full & final settlement after a couple of years, and now, two years later, I am half-way through a degree, and about to start an exciting new career to boot.
I know I was fortunate to have a dad to help me clear the IVA early, but even if I had not been able to, the IVA route, particularly with Melanie's extraordinary team, made me turn my financial life around.
So thank you YET AGAIN to her and to Tina Shortland, and to all of you embarking on this, I know it's daunting, but believe me, it really is for the best.

All the best to you all, and good luck in 2014.
Now debt free after F&F in July 2012.

That is a very inspiring post and one that others will find helpful when they're embarking on their journey to debt freedom.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

From one dark place to another sunkendrailer - we have lost The Ashes. I am heartbroken and now facing a ruined Christmas. The Boxing Day test will never be the same again!

On a happier note - thank you so much for posting really kind comments about myself and my team. Cheered me up on a really bad day, as not only have we lost the cricket but a very kind lady decided to run into the back of my car on the way into work this morning, causing some considerable damage. It never rains ...........!
