Don't know if any of you have ever seen "Don't get done, get Dom" on TV - but it is well worth a view.

The presenter, Dominic, basically goes into shops and haggles with the store owner or manager to get a better price than the RRP shown.

We needed a cotbed for our youngest as she was getting too big for her existing crib(which will go on Freecycle) so we went along to the biggest baby megastore in the country (it's not far from us and very handy).

I saw a gorgeous sleigh bed style cot with scroll tops that I fell in love with..but not the price, so I headed over to those that were in our budget and settled on one I quite liked.

The OH meanwhile, had grabbed the manager, done some haggling, and got the cot I loved AND an excellent quality hypoallergenic mattress for the same price as the one I had settled on!!!which was well in our budget!!!

I was so pleased..but I know I would never have had the 'balls' to do that myself. Think I will from now on though if that is the kind of deal you can get!

So get haggling, folks! You never know what deals you could get.

Well done! Just goes to show what you can get if you haggle!

Don't think I'd have the bottle to do it though!

Well done, I have seen the programme but I havent got the balls myself. I would ask though but if they said no, I might cry.

Thats great really well done to other half. I will not so much haggle but will offer less occasionally and have save da bit on things. I dont think I am brave enough to haggle like they do on the programme.

He later admitted he was amazed at how much he got off and how easily...I was skulking in the background going red and pretending I wasn't with him so didn't see the negotiations!

Well done Angelrainbow and OH!

I think it's definitely worth asking for money off these days. I was looking at a camera in a Panasonic shop a little while ago and the salesman came up to me and said the price it was listed at wasn't necessarily the final price as they had to be able to compete with other shops in the area.
