I wish her all the best. Its of course an interesting point and question. We all deal with stress differently but I wonder if their is any data showing proven medical symptoms that can show how medically dealing with debt problems and IVA can be linked.

As far as the medical condition of Downhearted lady I do feel very sorry for her. I have had stents and would of had the Stent proceedure IVA or not. What can happen is stress can bring on a already medical issue but a reduction in blood supply in one or more arteries leading to the heart is not linked to stress alone but other underlying problems. I do wonder though how many peoples health have been affected becuase of stress caused by financial worries.

Speedy recovery

Wishing you a speedy recovery downhearted lady,

hubby had a stent fitted and it has given him a new lease of life, now he has better circulation he looks and feels fitter than he has in years.

Hopefully now with Karol on the case all the stress you were under can go and you can just concentrate on recovering

We have been through many very stressful incidents over the last decade (bereavement, unemployment, starting a business to name just 3) which have caused a breakdown and depression.

However I can honestly say that the stress brought on by the financial worry of trying to deal with a struggling business which was heading for the rocks, plus personal debts (accrued due to the above) coming to a head, has been FAR MORE DETRIMENTAL THAN ANYTHING ELSE WE HAVE EXPERIENCED.

The despair, helplessness and utter fear was horrendous. I am pretty robust but nevertheless got depression. My husband got depression, anxiety (massive panic attacks) and developed Crohn's Disease as a result, and the health issues then added to the stress.

I think financial problems hit harder over here in the UK at least, because money is generally a taboo subject. When things go wrong there are very few people we feel comfortable confiding in -- and hence we bottle up the stresses until something pops !

Please pass on my best wishes too.
debt tired I too suffered depression whilst in the iva. Not only because of debt - mother and sister both had cancer, father died and extremem pressure at work - but I took the tablets and came out the other end! I'm still left with the expectation that things will go wrong for me but I am fighting back, with the help of my wonderfully patient husband.
Life after IVA is wonderful.

Life is tough sometimes isn't it? And when everything seems to come at once....

We are both on tablets and have been for a while now, but since finding out about IVAs, and now about to enter one, the stress has started to ease a little. Probably because we can now see a way out and a future.

This forum has been a godsend, not only for all the information but to know that so many other people are going through the same thing, and nobody thinks the worse of you for it. Also, as I am unemployed since my business folded, this has become my place to haver a natter and stave off the loneliness.

I wish you all the best wiggle and hope Downhearted Lady is soon on the mend.

hello all, im back!!! thanks to all for your words of support, it really meant alot. The IVA was not the reason for my cardiac event, but a contributing factor perhaps.thanks specially to Foggy, thanks matey :-)as a footnote can i say to all of you in an IVA, Keep all correspondence no matter how trivial it may seem, you never know when you might need it. well thats all for now, keep calm and carry on all. dont let the B******* grind you down.
