A little bit of advice for all you unlucky people who happen to have your IVA with GT/Aperture.

Be very careful and make sure you keep a record of every single penny paid into your IVA as I have done.

Make sure you keep all correspondence from and to them inclusive of all emails, telephone conversations etc as I have done.

They happen to be the worst company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with !

To cut a long story short I paid 100% back to all creditors making my final payment in June 2014 all done all finished.
It took 18 months YES 18 MONTHS after my final payment for them to issue my final certificate.

Meanwhile I have been chasing PPI and been very successful with a few.

One of the PPI claims got paid to greedy GT/Aperture where the cheque was cashed in January 2015 (7 months after I completed all payments in full) in the name of my IVA supervisor, which GT/Aperture blatantly deny.
I have the cheque number, amount and date the cheque was cashed.
Why would they cash a cheque that did not belong to them ?

I have on numerous occasions emailed GT/Aperture to be fair they did answer a few but have now decided to go down the once again ignorant route and completely ignore my emails.

I cannot go into any further details at present as I have taken legal advice and have been told I have a very strong case against GT/Aperture.
I have now made an appointment with a solicitor as they have blatantly chosen to ignore me.

Hi and I'm sorry to read that you are having to seek legal counsel in respect of your IVA.

Your advice about keeping a record of payments made, is a good one for all in an IVA as I was with Melanie but still did the same.

I hope that things settle for you and wish you all the best.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

I think your description is a good one of a typical scenario that is across the whole IVA industry.
IVA started March 2011, Completed March 2016 and certificate issued 11 days after final payment. It was not always easy but then some of the best decisions aren't.

Hi Jeff What a shambles! You can make a complaint against your ex IP here: https://www.gov.uk/complain-about-insol ... actitioner and might be able to avoid the need of a solicitor but best to take advice too.

jeffw, have you tried raising this to head of risk in GT, if you search on here there are some contact details to the lnkedin profile. you could try letting her know of your displeasure and the action you're about to take unless satisfied quickly. she has helped a previous posted in the past (search vic1507)
My Blog details, the route I took before IVA, how I choose my firm, equity release advice (year 4-5), challenging the CRA's keeping IVA on credit file once gone from insolvency register

IVA ended August 2015. Would recommend McCambridge Duffy

No problem - you should make a formal written complaint to Aperture first then escalate it if necessary.

Hi Lisa, Thank you once again for your advice, I have received an email from Aperture actually admitting that they did cash a PPI cheque which was sent to them "in error" which they shouldn't have, it has taken them since January 2015 after blatantly denying receiving a PPI cheque to finally own up.
The amount they have offered me back is nowhere near the amount of the PPI awarded so my legal fight will continue.

Why are they not just paying you the full amount back?! Keep up the challenge. Good luck.
