Hi everyone,

I agree with Lily, Kerri really thought you had won :-) Anyway i think it would be a good idea to all meet at shell island for a get together i am sure all the kids will have fun together while the adults can chill and really apriciate that beer knowing that you paid for it out of hard earned cash. Skippy i am the same as you shopping i have to count everything as i go along just in case i dont have enough money with no debit or credit card handy.

Will keep my fingers crossed for you Dominic, i have been on countless coures with work you have to take so much in and when you return to work all of the sudden you become the expert, sometimes it can only be a one day course and they will always say well you went on the course, (please)

My other half is doing a computer course - he's worked in computers and knows the stuff but hasn't got the piece of paper. He's been working as an electrician / handyman for the last few years but has kept his hand in on the computer stuff. I think he's got until March to take his exams.

does everyone wonder what everyone looks like, do you have an image that you have built up in your minds eye, or is that just me?

Just been pondering this:

We are going to die, and that makes us the lucky ones. Most people are never going to die because they are never going to be born. The potential people who could have been here in my place but who will in fact never see the light of day outnumber the sand grains of Arabia. Certainly those unborn ghosts include greater poets than Keats, scientists greater than Newton. We know this because the set of possible people allowed by our DNA so massively exceeds the set of actual people. In the teeth of these stupefying odds it is you and I, in our ordinariness, that are here.
-- Richard Dawkins, excerpt from Chapter I, "The Anaesthetic of Familiarity," of Unweaving the Rainbow: Science, Delusion and the Appetite for Wonder (1998)
