A fellow wanted to have his house renovated, but thought that all the estimates he received were too high. Finally he consulted Big Geordie who'd taken up building contracting in his spare time. So one evening he came to view the house.
"Ah'll completely redecorate yer bedroom for fifteen quid", sez Geordie.
"Great, said the customer, "all the others wanted at least £100".
At this the Geordie rushes over to the window and shouts out 'Green side up, green side up'.
"How about the bathroom?" asked the customer, "the others wanted at least £250".
"Me 'n me lads will dee it for £138.57", sez Geordie, whereupon he rushes to the window again and shouts "Green side up, green side up".
"Well you seem to be the man I've been looking for" said the customer, "just tell me one thing, why do you go to the window and shout Green side up, green side up?"
"That's just a bit 'o technical gubbins to me work marras", sez Geordie, "they're layin' a lawn next door".
