But realise I don't care. I have a car on a PCP scheme lease that runs out in mid September. The car is for work use, I travel about 35k a year for work. I have an arrangement in my IVA that allows the renewal, due to a car allowance and pence per mile allowance in my wage, however no finance underwriter has accepted me for a new PCP contract and I have no hope of this happening. Luckily my company will supply me with a hire van to carry out my work, at first I was a bit 'yuck' a van knowing other employees get company cars for their roles. But it has dawned on me "I don't care", like the screwdrivers I carry it is just a tool to carry out a task. Although I will still need to front up for the fuel and then claim it back I don't need to worry about insurance or sundry costs of running my own car, I may actually be a few bob a month better off.
After 7 months in this IVA I have forgotten the guilt and worry about when the next nasty letter is going to drop on the doorstep and remembered the value of what I can afford [:D]

Hi liverpig, looks like it's worked out ok for you and if you're a little better off then a double bonus.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

I think this one of the good thingd about an IVA is that your priorities are changed. As long as you have a vehicle to csrry out your job that is all that matters. And as you say you should be better of in the long run, no insurasnce, tax, servicing repairs. It looks like a win win situation.

Nothing you can buy feels as good as not being in debt.

Is that a good case of optimism and apathy in perfect harmony or what [:)]
If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else’s, we’d grab ours back.

Funds paid to date accepted as F&F 16th August 2013, the wait for completion begins.
