As I said earlier, it is not just about the value of the car now, but the fact that it has to last for the full five years. I would much rather put an IVA forward for someone with a car worth £8,000 than £800 - as the lower one has more change of failing and therefore putting the IVA into jeopardy than the higher one - hopefully!

Hi Melanie,

Our thought exactly! At least this one is reliable and well looked after, and will hopefully last us until the end!

Hope all goes well on the 21st kallis3.[:)]

It would seem a bit silly if they ask you to sell your car as its nearlynew now, but as Melanie says it will need to last the term of the iva

Let us know how you go on the 21st and keep in touch with the forum up to and after your meeting as you will find it a great support and a great place to get questions answered

Thanks for your support Emma, I will certainly post the results after the creditors meeting. I am quite nervous about it. My hubbie has been told that his will probably be accepted, but Payplan is not sure about mine (mine is the greater debt.) Fingers crossed

One of my creditors is Barclaycard, with whom I have a £6,500 debt. They have passed this on to Mercers (who I know are a division of Barclays). I have never spoken to them but have had several threatening letters (I have sent letters back explaining the situation but it make no difference). Does anyone know if it will be Barclays who vote at my meetng next week, or Mercers? Does anyone know how Mercers tend to vote?

Hi,

Thanks for your support. I shall be glad when the 21st has been and gone and I know where I stand. I think me and hubbie are starting to feel the pressure.

I'm with Payplan, and they are really good. They wouldn't put a proposal forward if they didn't think it would be accepted. Try not to worry x

Thank you for that, it makes me feel a little better. Hubbie has been told there shouldn't be a problem with his, but as I am offering less (I owe more!) I might have a problem.

I shall just have to wait and see. It does help being able to discuss things with people who are going through the same bad times as you are.
