It really stinks! I can't bare it now when I smell it on others & I can smell it miles away! It's weird how u don't when u do smoke!

Glass of wine was a challenge but a enjoyable one after not having anything being pregnant with bingo! Apart from a shandy at Christmas!!! X

When we used to smoke and worked shifts, I hated it when hubby came home from work and had a last cigarette before going to bed after nights - and I used to match him cigarette for cigarette!!

I do miss them sometimes but loathe the smell.

The present Mrs Torch used to work in our local gala bingo hall pre smoking ban.
Quite often she would come home and throw up because of the effects of all the smoke.
My present pet hate is allowing people at work to go for a fag break in our designated smoking area, (there is none so zealous as the converted).
I worked out that if they have a minimum of 3 fags a day, it is the equivalent of a week off every 7 weeks.

My hubby used to work part time in a pub pre smoking ban and the stink when he came home was awful!

It is nice to go to a pub now and not throw your clothes in the wash when you get home.
Hasn't done much for the pub trade though.

Our pubs seem to be doing quite well!! They have some very elaborate smoking shelters!!

I thought the same thing as Lesley, I used to go through loads of bottles of impulse thinking I could hide it (I was a secret smoker) now I realize it really didn't help hide it!

Hubby work 10+ hour shifts with no actual breaks, just eat n drink when u can, so when his staff go for a cig he has a cuppa & goes & chats with them! He went cold turkey too, they can't believe he's done it!

OT I used to think like that about people going for ciggie breaks at work until I watched it and the ones who went for a sneaky puff were back a lot quicker than the ones who go into the loo's to use their mobile phones,(mobile phones are supposed be to be switched off when you are at your work bench) we have people that are in there for over 15 minutes chatting away

I wouldn't mind if they were decent conversations to listen to but most of them are in polish so I cant understand them. [:D][:D]

We are allowed to use phones at work and mine is connected to the internet permanently as I am restricted to the sites I use.

Our smokers disappear for a while but I don't mind that as we they're not away for long.

No point ours going to the loo to use the phone - the signal is non existent in the middle of the building!!!

I have mine on silent but never really thought about others having cigarette breaks as I teach they can only have them between lessons so doesn't really affect me. I mostly find something like gossiping to do between lessons!

The only official break I have at work is lunch - we just have drinks whenever we want them otherwise.

We can have drinks anytime even when teaching as it's post 16's we teach so it's less formal.

Hay all

Glad to see so many of you have come off them and beat them!! Well after a week of reducing to quite im finally off! Struggled a little on saturday night when out with friends, some of which smoke, so was a little odd sitting with the non smokers whilst the rest go out the back for a fag! But already i feel so much better, my chest feels better, i can breath easier, ive started to smell things ive never noticed before etc

Im not back at the gym and loving it, for the first time since i was a teenager i ran for 5 k, i was like forest gump, running on the treadmill with a grin on my face amazed at how i wasnt in a heap on the floor calling out for an iron lung!!

Thanks for all the stratageries too, im doing the same MrsK with money, each day i put the equivilent of what i smoked into a jar and will be letting it save for the week then going to spend it, then let it build for 2 weeks etc then a month etc etc
