Hi everyone, first post on here. Well done Seagull, fingers crossed for the 28th. My variation meeting is on the 30/10/2009, fortunately 80% of my debt was bought up by a debt recovery company. they have accepted the offer that is being provided by a 3rd party, so i'm just waiting for confirmation.

Many thanks, I have been in debt for 14 years now so if all goes well then will be completely debt free by March 2010. It will feel really weird to have my pay to myself for once. I made the decision to go for an IVA in 2005, best decision i've made.

Don't worry lesley, you soon will. Once you get past the 3rd year it flies by, 53 months have passed for me and i've put 42 payments in. My circumstances may change with my job and living accommodation shortly so that's why a family member has offered a full and final settlement.

Yes I will, I will post a thread after it is sorted to share my IVA experience. Although, I spoke to someone who was helping out the case officer's today and he said that my offer could still fail as the recovery company only had 66% of the vote. After being told last week that they had 75% and had accepted I was shocked, he went back to my IP and then apologised that he was working out the vote percentage on creditors and not the amount of debt each one owned. Fortunately the original still stands and the full & final offer sum has been paid to the IP for distribution on acceptance. One week to go, they did say it was highly unlikely that the recovery company would retract their acceptance. They voted to accept straight away, fingers crossed!

I've never done that before lesley, I may look into it. I'm halfway through typing up my IVA experience but will stop before the end as i'll wait until the outcome of the variation meeting to finish it off.
