My partner and I have been in our IVA since Sept 2009, and are due to pay back approx £21K of a £59K debt over 6 years. Over the last few months we have managed to pay approx £11K (including our normal monthly payments) over to our IVA by working all hours and my partner receiving a large bonus every couple of months. If we were fortunate to be given an amount of money by a family member in order to end our IVA early what sort of amount would we be talking about?

Hi
Do you have an equity release clause in your IVA ?

there is very little equity in the house and we already have a huge mortgage so we were told we would have to pay for an extra year.

I would work this out on the basis of the payments you promised to make, less those which have already been made. Another way is to ask your IP to calculate what you would need to pay to achieve the dividend which was originally accepted.
