That's a great result for you and your creditors. Not sure about the advice to get a credit card straight away, as this will hardly improve your credit rating in the short-term.

Its such a fantastic feeling knowing its all behind you snt it?
Hubby's was accepted in December 2 years early and i now for us the sense of relief was amazing.
The IVA taught us a lot. How to budget well and how if we dont really need it then we dont get or if we cant afford it we save and pay cash.
We still follow those rules now and its amazing how fast we are saving.
Financially things have also improved for us with hubby getting a bit of a payrise.
If asked do we have any regrets i would have to say NO. Despite the stress and sleepless nights it caused me, its all been worth it.

Good luck in your debt free future xxxx

Hi, We too have been accepted My husband and I were in a a joint IVA and also have offered £6,000 with the kind help of our son, it has also been accepted and after 35 years of borrowing and then eventually doing the IVA we are now DEBT FREE.We thought it was probably our ages that helped ,as we are OAPS but maybe not.
The best of Luck to you ,keep smiling.
Alanta.

Great news atlanta. You can enjoy your retirement now.

Only just caught up with this thread. Congrats to those who have settled early. All your stories are most encouraging to those of us who are in the early stages.
