no forumla for that apart from living within your means, which we are all doing now towards our debt free future. Chris, if I'd have started this budgeting years ago, I often wonder how much money I would have by now and how much security I would have, isn't hindsight a wonderful thing?

Your right, Isthereanend, you really don't realise how much has been wittled away and how you really can do without all the things you used to spend money on until you are on a budget. I've said time and time again since we went on our budget that paying cash makes you realise the value of money, cards are 'virtual' cash what you never see so you don't realise how much you are actually spending. Very scary!!!! Don't get me wrong, I use my electron card but I'm always totting up as I pop the stuff in my trolley so I don't overspend.
One consolation is, I suppose, is that we are all the wiser for our debt experiences and hopefully that knowledge can be used to help others out in similar situations.....

isthereanend. Could you possibly email me a copy? If Admin forward my email address.

We haven't started our IVA yet, but panicking on how we are going to manage our shopping money etc.. trying now but its really false figures as don't know what payment will be accepted by creditors..

Angela I don't mind but mine doesn't break my allowance down, all it does is lists what goes in my account, what comes out my account, has linked sheets to a summary of payments made and another linked sheet to the 50% uplift payment required (which I send on a monthly basis). I'm sure if you knew your allowances you can list them all, I just don't work like that, I like to have the spreadsheet for my Natwest Step Account, I know what S/O and DD's are coming out and any surplus money is transferred to my Smile Account, don't keep a spreadsheet for this as this is what I consider to be my money, this is the money that should be divided up into medical/contingency etc., but so long as I can see a balance rising I'm happy. My spreadsheet may not work for you but you can see it if you want? Caraf has sent me hers now and I've just added the forumlas to it she needed in respect of the 50% uplift and returned it to her.

oh and by the way I've asked her to forward the sheet to her IP for checking as I don't want to be held responsible for any miscalculations, I currently work mine out like that but my first review isn't until May 08, haven't heard anything from the first payment I sent last month so am assuming it's ok?? Although cheque not cashed either so unsure if it's been looked at?

its fine. I'm going to just use account I think.. we have a savings account (empty) but thought this would be good for emergencies. an easycash which I thought could do for day to day stufflike shopping etc.. and SMILE for bills and IVA payment. Think I should be fine with that (fingers crossed)
Its so daunting when you haven't got that safety net to fall back on, but we are determined to do this... and failure is not an option (JUST HOPE IVA WILL BE ACCEPTED)
