Iam quite new to this site after only recently discovering it after my IVA was set up.
I am just wanting to share my story so far in the hope it might help others who are in debit wondering what to do .
I like many on this forum slowly got into debit with 5 credit cards, bank loan and store cards etc . Three years ago i had to change jobs resulting in my salary dropping quite alot, so i turned to the credit cards for extras and help paying bills .
by November 2012 i was about £33000in debt. Dont know why i rang Ocean Finance in the hope of borrowing more money, thankfully they refused and put me through to Freeman jones . Who have been great , they talked me through my options and i finally agreed on a Iva .

This was on Nov 6th and by nov 27th it was all sorted and passed ( just some minor changes their end ).It was scary when i stopped paying things and all the letters and phone calls started off banks etc , but a few phones calls too Freeman jones and they always sorted things out for me.
I can now sleep at night , its quite tight but we are managing, shopping around / cutting back . My relationship manager is really good / only an e mail / phonecall away . Hope this helps people in a mess like i was .

Interesting to see the connecion between secured lender and IP firm - but good to see you have had a pleasant experience along the way. Hope it all works out for you.

They are a very good firm and are one of the founder members of DEMSA - one of the main trade bodies representing debt management companies.

Hi,

I completed my IVA with Freeman Jones in 2011 and can't fault the service that I got from them, including getting my completion certificate in just 8 weeks.

You've got a good IVA, feeling great. You might find the paperwork a little daunting at first but don't worry, it ensures that no errors are made at your annual or six monthly reviews and you don't end up with a longer IVA term than necessary. Oh and they are really helpful at explaining the finer points if you get confused about anything - as I did on a couple of occasions!

Good luck in your journey,

Mrs S.

To be honest we all have issues during our IVA's ... such is life. And the majority of us fall out with our IP's during the term ( even if it doesn't come to blows and we just huff and put up with it ). A very high proportion of these gripes are down to misunderstanding ( on either side) or a communication problem and many blips are ironed out with a bit of a chat.

Freeman Jones ( among others) have had a couple of doozies lately, but the guys and gals there generally pick them up and sort them out.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014
