Well I've been away for a few days and come back and had to find the thread to see what all the fuss is about.

I have to say that I do think it is important that people have an open forum to vent about their worries/frustrations regarding their IVA's/debts etc here and if that includes issues regarding how they feel their case is being run then so be it, on the other side to this I also think it's important for people to be fair, professional and courteous, sometimes when we are severely stressed you can't see the wood for the trees, read too much into things and things get blown out of proportion, as most people know I am also with Mel's team, I'm not going to start another post of the 'Mel's appreciation society' (sorry Mel!) and that's not what this is about, I will be honest and state that the service I have had from Mel and her team so far in the last 2 years I have held a relationship with them has been great, there have been a couple of occasions we have had issues which have been cleared up and we have moved on, usually this has been because I have not understood something and needed it explaining in more clearer detail, whether I agree with the answer or not is irrelevant, being in an IVA sometimes you just have to accept that!

Sometimes I think what we have to remember is that although we are in an IVA, we don't know all the ins and outs, our IP's are there to highlight the legalities of things for us and ensure we abide by our agreements, changes to these agreements are obviously going to take time, we all know being in this for 5-6 years circumstances can change, ideally it's in everyone's interest for an IVA to run it's course without a variation I would think, no matter how much we would all like something to happen so ours could end tomorrow. but I also accept that when a variation needs to be proposed it takes time to put together and also I think it's fair for any IP to only put this together if they feel there is no alternative, this in itself would take time to establish and put together.

No company is perfect, I know that, I don't believe for a minute that any of our IP's and IVA companies want to let down a customer, their businesses depend on good feedback and providing excellent service, so they strive for this, it's the backbone of their business, but sometimes I think we have to just sit back and realise that we are just one small fish in a very big pond and things just can't happen in the timeframe we would like.

At the end of the day I think when things go wrong, you need to give your IP a chance to put things right and the only way to do that is communicating with them until both parties understand the issue and come to a mutual agreement of a way forward, it might not always be the answer you wished for but as long as you understand the reasons for this then at least you can move on
