Wasn't quite sure where to post this ...

I was just wandering, those of you who have finished paying into DMPs/IVAs...

How is life treating you now? How have things changed? Are you less stressed/happier? etc

I am just wandering as me and hubby were talking last night about what our life will be like after the next 6 months are finally over. xx

Kallis, I was thinking about that this morning and whether I would still post after our IVA has fonished but I think I will. I remember when we first started and I felt as though we were the only ones in our situation. Finding this site was great so I think I would stick around trying to help those who are in my position. xxx

Helen is fine, sort of, been going through some things and not very well at all at the moment. Got yet another ear infection and suffering for it.

Sorry to hear that you've not been well Helen - you know where I am if you want to talk off forum.

Why not just save your money for the moment and sit down and prioritise what needs doing? I'd certainly think about a holiday again if I were you - you love them and it sounds as though you could do with a break.

Good post Sis, never thought of it like that before. I guess when we have credit we live day by day wondering where its all gonna come from and then once its all cleared and there is money its a case of what to do now cos that stress we lived with for years is gone and its bound to be dizzying, like standing up too quick.

Save I reckon, make a list of things you want and look to how achieveable it is, maybe whilst you are saving you could portion it (in theory) so if you wanted clothes, room decorated, and holiday you could save a set amount each month and have a goal amount for each thing, say £100 and 20/30/50% in the split, once you reach the first goal of clothing amount then buy, after that it saves towards the other two. After 6 months you'd have £120 for clothes £180 for room and £300 towards the holiday. Obviously there is a chance you might have more to save (once you've stopped buying that gas eh?) and things will happen quicker.

Things have got much better financially for us over the years since hubbys F&F was accepted. I think its about 3 years now. 2 or 3. Never thought about credit again and save for what we want.
We have a new leather recliner suite coming in a few weeks that will have all been paid with cash.
I have bought horses for my son and daughter too. Its nice not struggling and im sure you will ALL get to share that feeling soon too.

Oooo horses, my daughter would be at yours in a shot, she really in to horses and unicorns at the moment. Would love to get her a riding lesson for her birthday. Couldn't afford more than one but at least she would have been on a horse LOL

We have 3 and one of those is due a baby in a couple of months....my mum has one also that will be passed to my daughter as soon as hes old enough to be ridden.

I'd love to go riding again - trouble is that my nearest place is £25 an hour or £35 for two hours and I just can't afford that.
