Hi all, sorry it has taken me so long to reply to this thread. The queries in question relate to another IP so I wanted to check with him before I said anything.
It is hard to give a definitive answer as how pay-rises are handled come down to the proposals. It is likely that we would only ask for the payrise income to be included at the annual review stang. However some proposals state the increase must be taken in to account when it occurs.
We have recently been asking our case officers to look into cases and asking clients to pay in funds based on the proposals.
Without knowing details of peoples proposals it is hard to answer any questions with detail, however if anyone is concerned then please feel free to contact me and I will more than happily run through it with you.
Also if anyone has any questions that they would like answering off the fourm, please feel free to contact me.

Hi, I have been a member previously but forgot my password. I am having the same issues with Payplan. 2 and a half years with no issues and now they do seem to be changing the goalposts. When I queried things I got very vague information back and now an instruction that I must have an annual review, even though the last one was 6 months ago. I also was told not to notify of a pay increase until the annual review and now I am being made to feel like I am cheating my creditors. Not happy at all with payplan at the moment.
Struzzo you make a good point regarding the fact that where a Company demands to know about wage increases (and enforces them from day 1)then the same follows that they should be informed on a monthly basis of increases in expenditure, however, in the majority of expenditure, is it not fair to assume that the expenditure must not exceed the guidelines specified in that years I & E and unless it was a sudden rise in rent, mortgage or utilities I'm not sure how "other" rises in expenditure (eg mobile phone or other allowances) would be viewed?
In my case I have not had a wage increase from my work in 4 years and unlikely to see such for the forseeable future, however, as I forward my pay slips to the Company on a monthly basis I'm know my IVA Company would'nt fail to spot the differance and make me pay any due amounts without delay.
In any event, to tell the truth, I would certainly make any extra payment (as an uplift) without needing a prompt, as my IVA Company has specified exactly what I am allowed to earn on overtime et al without having to make a payment and whenever I have been fortunate to exceed that figure I have paid the due amount.

I came into this world with nothing and still have most of it left!
While I am not defending the IPs, it may be that the creditors are bringing pressure to bear so that payrises are notified immediately and they receive every possible penny they can squeeze out.
I was with PayPlan and I was never asked to pay any extra from my payrises, which happened just after the annual review so they were not aware of the rises until December when we received our bonus.
By the time of the next review my expenditure had also increased so the pay rise was accounted for.
Skippy I very much agree.....goalposts shouldn't be moved, however, surely as Nick says, individuals IVA "proposals" should be checked and in my personal view take precedence, whatever and whenever a Company makes changes.
31101932 looks like you were one of the fortunate ones. Well done.

It may be that the creditors are bringing pressure to bear, that does not stop the companies communicating clearly with their clients. If I had got a straight forward answer explaining what was going on, or even some sort of notification prior to my quarterly review then there would have been no issue. As it is they are now asking for the extra payments from pay rises and when you are trying to control your finances these sudden changes don't help.
Can I suggest that all of you with concerns actually dig out your IVA proposals and read through what is actually required of you and at what point it is required. If then you still feel you are being unfairly treated, as Nick says his door is always open.
While I understand that what the proposals state is what should be happening I do feel it's unfair to suddenly change things without notifying the client as this can cause a lot of problems for people having to make back payments.
It's slightly different but my work contract states I'm paid by the end of the month but we are always paid on 25th. I know they could quite easily change the date but I hope they would notify us first.
Thanks to Nick for explaining this, I have checked my proposal and it would seem I am one of the unlucky ones who has to pay over any increase. This did come as a shock as I had been allowed to keep my payrises. I do not do overtime or get a bouns. At least I know the score now-hopefully.

Now I have finally got some clarification from Payplan and they told me the request for an annual review only 6 months after the last one was a mistake I am much happier. I have not had any problems with them until this past week. I am sure it was a glitch and things will better from now on.
