Hi there....I havent been around for a while but wanted to update you and the forum gang on whats going on....After finally getting made redundant Chris has taken early retirement and has a relatively good pension income....but the best news ever is that he has been offered consultancy work at our church ..taking care of all their technical/audio/IT side of things...2 days per week....this is his dream job and between his pension and his consultancy fee he earns enough...we wont be rich but we will be happy.

Melanie..not sure if you remember but when we met you at Frugal Friends in Slough all those years ago and talked about this redundancy..you said that Chris should look on the future as an "adventure" and we took your advice and we are set to embark on the "best is yet to come"

Michael...your help to ensure our Full and Final went through has meant we can now move on into the "rest of our lives" having learned so much from our IVA time.

Once again...my thanks for all that this forum has meant to us...love to all....xxxx

I remember you both very well (I&C) and am so glad to hear your news. The church has been such a large part of your lives, and for hubby to now be working internally to provide such a good support service must be enormously rewarding.

As a small part of this wonderful forum I feel so proud to have been able to help a little, and a lot of other posters will take comfort from reading your story. The very best of luck to both of you, and "lang may your lumb reek". As Scots, I hope you understand that comment and that I have spelt it correctly!
Regards, Melanie Giles, Insolvency Practitioner

Yes...Melanie...your Scots is almost perfect...LUM...is of course ..chimney ....and...REEK ..is another word for smelly smoke...

meaning in a nutshell....."may you always have fuel for your fire and food on the table and be warm.."

I truly believe without our 39months in our IVA and all the support we had from the forum...our LUM may well have gone out..(!)
