Does anyone know how long it takes usually to get a response from an IP?

I was only wondering so I didn't chase her up too soon.

I have spoken to DFD again tonight as we still hadn't had our I&E docs acknowledged. Actually spoke to someone helpful who said they have a massive backlog and my emails (sent 23/4) hadn't been logged against my account yet. I have now emailed them directly to the person I spoke to, so I can stop worrying about that.

I have been told that it would be ok to leave my job early to look after my husband and that we could reduce payments for 2 months. I still don't think we'll know what will happen with my OH job at that point. The lady at DFD seems to think that if he gets a medical pension they will expect payments to continue, which is quite worrying as we will be homeless and jobless by that point, can't imagine that a medical pension will help pay to feed us never mind pay the IVA.

Ho hum, sorry for ranting!

Don't worry about ranting - we all do it!

You have a couple of months breathing space to get something sorted, hopefully DFD will be supportive and you can put this nightmare behind you and concentrate on your husbands health.

My OH has been in for tests for nearly 2 weeks and still no joy on a diagnosis, though his condition has worsened so I will have to give up my job as soon as he is discharged. Not sure how I will go on with the notice period of one month, as he will not be able to be left alone as he keeps falling.

Finances are stretched to the limit as it is a 136 mile round trip to the hospital.

Still not heard anything off our IP. I was hoping to hear what will happen after the 2 month reduced payment period (which I will have to start next month). I think our case will have to go to a variation.

I just wish someone could put my mind at ease...

So sorry to hear that your hubby is worse. Keep pestering DFD - I really think that you have a case for offering your payments to date as a full and final.

Did Declan get back to you at all? Hopefully he can pick up on this today.

OH finally out of hospital, I've given my notice at work as oh falls so often he needs someone with him 24/7. We were told by DFD that we could pay reduced payments for 2 months but not a clue about what will happen then.

We have heard nothing from Declan, so we've emailed him again. Spent an hour trying to get through to DFD on Saturday - no joy. We've not heard anything off our IP so we are getting really worried.

Doctors have advised that OH will have the condition permanently and that stress affects his condition, he could do without this at the moment.

I am sure that Declan will be looking in some time next week to be able to help you, but why not send him an urgent e-mail so that he is alerted to this first hand.

Hi All
Apologies Grumple, my email mailbox limit has been full for sometime (according to our IT department!) so I have only been receiving certain emails and not all. Grumple - would you mind re-emailing you and i will ensure this gets treated as a priority?

Many thanks and once again apologies for the confusion.
