Hi, I posted a few days ago regarding our situation (we're currently living in Guernsey). Since posting, me and my husband had a long chat and decided to contact Melanie. On Sunday, we had the most informative and helpful conversation with Melanie and we've decided that yes, an IVA is the best route for us.

What an emotional roller coaster it all is. I realise it's probably going to get worse before it gets better but I go from thinking great, we're on the very very first rung of the ladder, but at last, we're doing something positive about this vile situation we've found ourselves in. Then an hour or so later, I'll feel completely rubbish about how we got into it and feel like a criminal or something.

I do though, feel so lucky to have found this very helpful website and it certainly helps knowing other people have been or are going through the process. I've got some amazing friends back home in the UK, and although a lot of them know about our situation, I think it's so hard for people to understand just how it can affect a person/couple.

Anyway, I'll stop rambling! I just wanted to re-introduce myself and say thanks again to the people that replied to my post last week.

Well done for taking those brave steps, I really hope the IVA does what it was made to do.

Good Luck!

Keep posting away, as you will find an immense support network on this forum - and of course you know where I and "the other Melanie" are if we can help on a more direct basis.

Chin up - you are working your way to a much brighter future for all of you.
Regards, Melanie Giles, Insolvency Practitioner

Thanks for the replies and I'll try to keep on posting although my brain's relatively fuzzy right now, so I'm guessing I might not make a huge amount of sense!

You're right Julie, about going through a lot of different emotions. Never known anything like it! But with lots of fantastic posts on here, and lots of support I just KNOW we'll get through this now.

Positive thinking from hereonin - onward and upward!!
