I love fireworks, always have and always will. The cats I have had have never even flinched when they have gone off.

It was earsplitting decibels on the TV last night to try and drown them out. Didn't work though.

I feel sorry for the wildlife as well.

Animals like humans are affected in different ways by different things and I've seen some of my friends animals affected by fireworks and thunder and it's not nice at all.

Organised events on specific days and at least we'd know it'd only be a few times a year we'd have to put animals through this.

Funnily enough, mine don't bother about thunder and Topsy seems to be pretty much bombproof fortunately. It's the other two and they get really stressed out.

I wouldn't mind so much if they finished at a reasonable time but they don't - there were still going off at midnight.

Should be organised displays only as Lesley says.

1:15 this morning we still had fireworks going off. To say I was not best pleased is an understatement.

Jets are a big noise problem here, always low flying and scaring my children. Mind you, they are scared of fireworks too and I have been up and down past few nights trying to reassure them everything is OK. They are too young to enjoy an organised display. Thunder scares them too.
I agree organised display on or on the nearest weekend to the 5th is the way to go.

We get jet noise and quite a few helicopters as well but that doesn't bother me too much.

Thunder is one thing I do love, my dream holiday once the IVA is finished, is a storm chasing one in America - with Helen hopefully.

This is ridiculous - we had fireworks this morning and they are going off now.

Perhaps it's about time we taught children that rather than being pretty things to oooh and aaaah at fireworks are dangerous things that cause fear and distress to animals and some humans.

So far it's quiet here..no fireworks, just me celebrating a win in the footie [:D]

I still find it incredible that H&S haven't cracked down on fireworks!

They crack down on things that they don't need to, and yet people are still allowed to by explosives in Tesco!

They are going off here at the moment.

What gets me is that people moan they have no money but can go out and spend shed loads on fireworks!

Hubby and I said that on Friday night we watched one lot of fireworks going off for over 15 minutes we estimated over £100 went up into the sky as they didn't seem cheap ones that sparkled a little bit these were good ones. Wasn't even an organised display just a person in their back garden.

It's like Beirut again here and we have the music channels on loud again.

The worse noise ever in my opinion is those cars with bass booming out it drives me insane! bum bum cars I call them, hate them with a passion and want to rip their speakers out.
