I'm moving in with you Ray [:D]

Aww Mrbluesky, hope your dog is better...I'm sure there'll be more fireworks tonight around here as the weather is so much better today. Maybe I'l crank the music up full and drown out any BANGS!

We live quite high up near the South Downs and get a great view of everyones expensive fireworks. We just sit up in the bedroom with the lights out and the curtains open with a drink and watch.

They should be for 5th November only, and then only for organised displays.

I thought times were supposed to be hard, but it seems that some people have more money than sense, and no thought for animals or people.

I have one quivering wreck of a lurcher - she is shaking like a leaf.

Ronald - the vet will either prescribe valium (and I don't recommend it - it's not nice to see them spaced out) or get you to buy a very expensive plug in thing which dispenses pheromones and is supposed to calm them down. It doesn't work.

We're in the living room with doors shut and VH1 turned up loud!

We got footie on really loud [:D]

It wouldn't be so bad if it was just one night, but it seems to go on forever!

Like others have said, i wonder how people can afford to buy them?

I'd avoid ACP (prescribed by vets) like the plague. It doesn't calm their brain, it just makes them inactive. They're just as scared but can't do anything about it. The Dap wipes are more effective than the Diffusers and someone I know used one last night and tucked it under their dog and there was a remarkable improvement.

Valium leaves them zombied for days. I sincerely feel for all of you with pets who are scared and am so grateful my two would happily go to a firework display. x

Topsy is no problem, it's the other two. Having seen how Valium affected my last dog there is no way I would do that again.

The diffusers are a complete waste of time and money and I can't ge ours to sit still long enough to use wires, they just won't settle.

VH1 it is!

You would use the wipes during the day Jan before the fireworks started.

Duh! I misread your post and thought it said wires! Thought it might be something to put under a blanket! I might have to try the wipes next year.

Lol Jan and I thought yours was a typo in your reply. Jan who used it has Dalmations and works as a vetrinary nurse so I guess she got them from there, I guess anything worth a try but she definitely said although not cured made a huge difference. x

I might have to give them a try.

At the moment Bonnie Tyler is doing her best!
