Hi all, i started my iva February 2006 with Payplan, had to take a 12 month break due to loss of job in 2007, took the full 72 months to compete which i did in February 2012, just wondering how long its takes for the completion certificate to be sent from Payplan, been phoning then and there's no response from other than ,we are waiting to claim the VAT back from HMRC, anybody else have this problem,
many thanks
Oh yes, you're one of many in the club! A club that is growing every day.. I am concerned how they intend to clear the backlog when their refund arrives. Perhaps it is all hands on deck thus the small amount of time Gemma is on here - well we can only hope
I suggest that you ask them to clearly define what is stopping your case from being closed, and when they expect to have the matters resolved. I have long dealt with the VAT matter which has caused a degree of delays, but Payplan's portfolio is vastly larger than mine so they may take longer.
Thank you for your response, I'll phone them again, but all Ive been getting is there's nothing they can do until this matter with the VAT is resolved my HMRC,
Hi Sospan welcome to the forum. They are right in saying that if they have not yet finalised matters however they should be able to give you some sort of timescale to work towards so that you can move on. Well done for completing your IVa even with the added dificulty of your job loss.
Best wishes.

Only found this forum after i had completed my IVA, cant fault Payplan for there help over the period of the IVA, just thought after i had to take the full 6 years to complete it, i could move on with rebuilding things, it seems like it mite be 7 and beyond, at leased i am debt free which is a huge relief
Good to see that you have generally experienced a positive journey with Payplan. They often ger a bashing from their clients on the forum, and it is good to see some balanced views as well.
Hi! I completed in feb with payplan and my husband completed in may! We have both received our cc some time ago and are now off the insolvency register too! Nt sure why they are claiming vat as being the problem! Perhaps they are claiming late payment charges or PPI on yr behalf!!! U might be wise to check with them! Keep us posted
Hi, thats very interesting that you and your husband completed your IVA's around the same time as me, thats great for the both of you that you've received your CC, it cant be just the VAT thats holding up mine, will have to keep hounding them to see what the hold up is, thank you all for your replies, will keep you posted
Hi, found all the posts here very interesting. I paid my final IVA payment in Feb (2012) and I am still waiting for my CC. My IVA was with PayPlan and I found them very professional and helpful during the 5 years of my plan. Only missed one payment which they happily added to the end of the plan. Like other posts my CC is delayed due to VAT, which PayPlan is waiting for from HMRC. It seems so unfair, having completed all payments that we are having to wait an extended period of time. Has anybody had a similar experience and been able to get Payplan to issue CC before plan has been completed over a year? Don't get me wrong, I don't want to apply for loads of credit, been burnt once! However, I would like the option of repairing my credit rating so I can spread a major purchase such as a car with sensible finance rates.
I don't understand why this is the case. Most IP firms have now sorted out their VAT issues, and whilst this was an immensely time consuming task, it was one which had to be done and the quicker the better. Perhaps Gemma can make a general post on the forum to reassue Payplan clients that this matter is well in hand and progressing.
