I feel totally ridiculous asking this but hey ho I am going to be brave!

After discussions with Jenny G, we have come to the conclusion that BR for my partner is the way forward. Petrified but relieved oh and petrified some more!!

Now for the silly question! Please dont think I am stupid! I owned my car outright and my partner doesnt. We both drive the other ones car (for better fuel economy) My panic is that her car is on HP and obviously when she faces BR the car will be tken off us. I hate to sound like a spoilt brat, I assure you I am many things but not that! But we are a family that needs two cars! My partner works too far away from home and has to drive between locations for her job, and I have to take the kids to school, walking is not an option for us as we didnt get into our local school so school is a 15 drive but over an hours walk. Besides this I am self employed as a beauty therapist and work mobile, so kind of need a car and even if I leave this job and seek another not having a car will limit me to finding work. Ok so I can get over this by public transport but as for the kids going to school......I am drawing blanks at that one, the school is not even on a bus route?

Providing your cars are not worth more than £2500 and they are essential for work you should be ok to keep them both. I would check that the car finance is HP though, as a lot of cars are bought with 'fixed sum loans', this would mean that the cars was not secured against the loan. If either or both cars are worth more than £2500 each, the OR will probably sieze them as assets and allow some money back to buy cheaper replacements.
It's nice to be back......
