Thanks swardean - can't believe how supportive everyone on here is - it's fantastic. Thankfully I work full time so am rarely at home during the day (apart from today obviously), and we have been unplugging the phone - with being home the last couple of days I did plug it back in for a while in case my mum called - never again!! I honestly thought by explaining our situation they would be sympathetic, but they were not a bit interested; only wanted to get a payment out of me. They didn't win though, I refused to make a payment and kept referring them to my IP (they refused to make contact with my IP, and threatened to keep calling and impose late/default charges). I just told them that was fine and hung up!!

Change your phone number Rainbow - your creditors won't bother you again if you do.

I've just done the lying thing with the estate agent, that I was wanting to move closer to the school.... felt like such a cad but it had to be done, they are coming next Tuesday.

Hi

I just wanted to say, hang on in there, I know the calls are soul destroying and the callers are there to make damn sure youre not going to have a good day. Not nice when youre going through just about the worst time of your life. Tell them this, tell them youre trying, youre working on it, youre not a piece of something they would rather not have trodden in. Tell them you can not pay, that means an inability so applying charges is only going to make the problem worse, ask them to repeat that fact while you record the call just to show how helpful they are to people in trying times. Please also remember to tell yourself, youre doing your best, you cant do any more hun, so hold your head up and keep on plodding. It gets better.

That's an excellent post Lily, and really good advice.

At the end of the day the people who are doing the bullying are no better than us, and I know it's easier said than done, but please don't let them get to you x

Thanks Lily! That's exactly what I done tonight when Sygma called again (lady was very nice though). Cath - I couldn't use the "nearer to school" excuse with the agents as we only live round the corner!! The one about job relocation seems to have worked though! x

Hi
Yes I'm glad my IP sorted that out as well. I had the same problem with my phone worring if my Mum needed me. She does not know about my money problems I had to tell her the phone was playing up.
A word of hope though once my proposal was in place and the creditors meeting date was set the calls did start to ease up.

Thanks country girl - my dad actually tried to phone me on Saturday - I was at home, and he phoned my mobile, asking where I was! I told him the phone was playing up as well, as they're not aware of the situation we're in, I don't want to worry them. x
