hi Angela
You are not a failure.Really and truley you're not. When you are in the IVA you may actually feel more able to allow daughter some luxery. It's strange but I have found I have enough money to manage more now in the IVA and it's only been 4 payments now.Currently you will be robbing Peter, paying Paul and not knowing if you are on your **** or head! Melanie seems very clear and extremley insightful. She's very accessable here so I can only imagine that she's the same in her professional practice. MY iva is elsewhere and although I haven't got an issue with this company if I would have found this forum first I would have gone to Melanie and she appears very safe.Incidentally, my emotions are still all over the place some days, but it will get better for you.Cat

Hi angela/buttercup

It is such a difficult time and such a rollercoster of emotions and worry while setting up your iva's. Somedays I wondered if I could take any more stress and creditor phone calls would send me to tears and I felt so desperate.
The worst thing is thinking 'What if my iva is not accepted' as you are pinning all hopes on that. I would say to remember that the vast majority of iva's are accepted and Melanie would not waste time on a proposal that did not have a great chance of success. As soon as Melanie started acting for me (Long story but I did start off with another company) I relaxed a lot and felt confident in her and her team. I had my iva accepted in November and it all still feels a bit strange (can't explain strange, but it is strange good[:)])
Please don't worry to much as you will make yourselves ill which will not help, you are not faliures at all and it takes courage to sort everything out which you are doing.
Remember that the forum is a great place if you need support and I believe it was the only thing that got me through the iva process as I told no friends or family what I was doing so was all alone.
Also agree with cat that you feel so much more in control and know exactly where you are and spare money is yours to do with what you want. Before my iva, like cat, I was using credit to pay for credit and had no money of my own to spend.

Good luck and Melanie, Tina, Angela, Sarah and all the other wonderful staff will look after you[:)]

Mikey - Best of luck for next Thursday, don't forget to post results. You are right one of the best things is no more calls or letters. I got some for about a week after acceptance but then nothing which was (and still is) pure bliss..

Good luck

just wanted to wish you all the best it will be ok IVA companies dont take these on if they think they will not be approved - you are almost there stick in - i almost shook myself to death with stress waiting for mine to be approved and even now 18 months into it if I get a letter with anything to do with the IVA i feel sick but my IVA company is superb just be honest with them they will make it work with you
good luck

Mikey - not long to go, try to stay calm. Only 10 sleeps[:)]
After my iva was approved and the euphoria had worn off and I had stopped smiling, I slept so well. I did not realise how everything was affecting my sleep until it was all over and I could have slept for a week solidly.
The forum was the only thing that got me through the whole process of my iva, so keep in touch and if you feel a bit down post and it really helps[:)]
