Believe it or not on the day I received my completion certificate I got a phone call from EIC wanting to start chasing PPI and bank charges, I told the guy now I have my completion certificate I would prefer to opt out.

He told me that if they went ahead and were successful with a claim all the money would come direct to me, I said I thought it would have to go towards my IVA, he said now that completion was finalised I had satisfied my IVA and any money claimed was mine.

Is he right????
IVA COMPLETED ON THE 17th MARCH, FINAL I&E COMPLETED 26th APRIL, COMPLETION CERTIFICATE ARRIVED 2nd AUGUST

Not sure on that - the creditors may well keep it to offset against the remainder of the debt.

Don't forget there would be fees to come out of that so you could end up out of pocket.

Perhaps best to leave well alone?

Probably not, but it depends upon the terms of your own IVA. I would check with GT to be sure, as creditors are unlikely to pay up without the agreement of the former Supervisor.

That's what I thought but he wouldn't take no for an answer.

EIC are working on behalf of GT so I'm not going to do anything unless instructed by them, any letters I receive I will just forward on to GT.

I've had enough hassle over the last 6 years I just want to get on with my life.

I'm trying very hard for this not to spoil the euphoria of receiving my completion certificate today

Hi again

My letter specifically says GT have ceased to act on my behalf. Suspect you have the same.

If EIC phone me I'll just say I'm not interested and hang up.

GT have issued a completion certificate, taken their fees, paid the final dividend to the creditors, told them to update their records accordingly and the Court has taken my name off the Insolvency Register what can they do.

It's over.

It a weird feeling though being debt free and having all that money written off and it was a lot in my case - I'm still in shock.

Yes my letter said the same, GT no longer acting on my behalf, I tried to tell the EIC guy I wanted to opt out but he wasn't having it.

There's obviously a few quid in it for them!!!!

suspect they have a stock of standard letters and bombard all the creditors they can get details for in the hope a percentage just make a goodwill payment rather than investigate.

I think I will ignore phone calls from EIC.
None of us need phone calls like this.
Final payment made Dec 2011.
Certificate of Completion arrived 26th Sept 2012
