MBNA Tracked me down at work. I never gave them my works number they called and spoke to a colleague too, but I've no idea who answered as they just transferred the call through to me and put the phone down so I got the call straight away.

We are not allowed personal calls, let alone debt collection calls, that call could so easily have cost me my job. But they don't think about those consequences, THEY SHOULD REALISE WE DO NOT WANT CALLS AT WORK AS WE DID NOT PUT DOWN WORKS NUMBERS ON THEIR FORMS FOR THAT REASON.

I have had creditors phone neighbours and ask them to pop round to ask X to call back urgently.

What a wonderful world this is!

Thank goodness they cant get hold of me at work, I'm usually at 36,000 feet!!!!!
Seriously though, I am worried that they may call and speak to my manager about me. I would die of shame.

it is also illegal for them to do that

data protection PLUS they would be breaking the Harrassment act

Section 40 of the 1970 Administration of Justice Act - details what they can and can't do and they can't cause you alarm or distress etc.

If you quote the act you will find that the operator has never heard of it and is blissfully unaware that they are personally liable for a fine if they break this law.

As Michael was saying they don't ask any security questions they must be breaking data protection by discussing your personal matters with someone else.

In answer to James's post (lovely picture by the way, they are smashing girls), I know these people are only doing their job, but do they have to be so rude about it? If they were polite, I am sure more of us would answer the phone, but they are so aggressive, threatening and bullying most of the time that it is no wonder people get upset and scared. I know that they are trying to get us to pay money, but they also know that we cannot afford to make full payments.

None of us like being in the position we are in, and they are not helping!
