Been a while since I visited the forum since completion but looks as busy as ever!

Received a request for payment from the DWP. Its supposedly a debt owed from 13 years ago. Its not a lot of money but how do I stand in terms of the fact that I have completed a 6/7 year IVA. Should they have not submitted a claim then?

I was not aware and this is the first letter ever received.

If you were unaware of the debt when you started your IVA it would not have been included, so the debt still stands.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

Hi there and welcome back!

This seems very unusual that they would be seeking to chase a debt which is so old. Do you know what it relates to? It is probably bound under the terms of your IVA, but if so then you will have to account to HMRC for the dividend they would have received had they been properly included. You may need to seek help from the former supervisor to deal with this.

How much is the claim for?
