Hi we are nearing our equity release date and have been instructed by our iva company to get a valuation on our property a internet one is no good so we will have to pay for one not quite sure how we will do this when we have no spare money. Then we try and phone up a couple of companies for a remortgage and we were not excepted which was no supprise but then they told us they can not send us a letter out saying that we havent been sucessfull as we havent even passed the first part of the application. I dont understand how we are meant to send our iva company proof of no remortgage offer when no company will give us one, if anyone can advise us on our next step it would be much appreciated

Hi
We did our re-mortgage applications on line. Both were declined (obviously), but we were able to print off the details stating this and sent the information to our IP.
The information was accepted as proof that we had tried to re-mortgage and that was all that they needed. Hope this helps.

Hi Debbie.bn, online seems to be the best way of getting written confirmation of a rejection. If the valuation is going to cost an amount you cannot afford speak to your IP as you should not have the struggle in that month. Your IP may be able to arrange it and get the cost covered from the IVA fund.

Let us know how you get on. Well done on getting so far - not long to go now :-)

We went to Barclays and they gave us a letter stating they will not lend to anyone who is in an IVA, we got it the same day, we didnt have to complete an application or anything else.
