Hi, it's a long story but to cut it really short someone is willing to gift me £5000 as a full and final settlement. I have 17 months left in an IVA and the repayments are £290 a month which totals £4930. Do you think this will be acceptable. I know I will have to speak to my supervisor but I am an absolute wreck at the moment due to this IVA

This seems reasonable although if there is equity in the property creditors may look for a little more as they would have received twelve more payments. It is certainly worth putting forward and best of luck.

Hi Michael, I am already in my 56 month and IVA was due to finish in October this year when I was hit with the bombshell about having to remortgage etc or carry on for another year but I have heard nothing from my supervisor since. I don't think I can carry on another 17 months hence the help being offered to me

In that case your offer is more than reasonable but make sure it reduces by any payments you make from here on. If it takes three months for the variation to be approved make sure the £5k drops by the equivalent amount of your monthly payments.

Finally it may be worth just asking the IP to accept the £4930 remaining and close the IVA down and if it was one of our cases I am sure we would be happy to do so.

Thanks Michael,

I will pluck up the courage and call my supervisor tomorrow.

One more thing my IVA is with Freeman Jones. Are they likely to help?

I am sure they will do their best. They have a least one representative on this forum so if you emailing them explain about the forum and it may help.

Hi

You should not feel worried about contacting your IVA company

It is a very good offer and would surely be acceptable to your creditors

Hi Donna
Hope it all goes well for you,i'm sure it will. We are in the same position and have put forward a F&F offer, but our IP ain't exactly being helpful, and is making the process more difficult at best. Keep us posted on how you get on.

I am sure someone else will be able to answer your query if Melanie is not free at the moment. Why not speak to one of the members of staff in Melanie's office and I am sure you will find out what you need. If it is vital that you speak to Melanie I am sure she will contact you as soon as she can but see if her staff can answer the question first.

Many thanks for the advice. We have put forward a F&F offer. We would prefer to speak to Melanie directly as we have not been happy and comfortable in the way that this is being dealt with. If Melanie gets all of our corresspondance regarding our offer that we did request she got a few days ago from Natalie, all we become a bit clearer and we can sort it.
